Chelsea turns Edithvale orange
Hi Ho, Hi Ho collecting we will go!
The intersection of Edithvale Road and Station Street in Edithvale became a temporary home for the volunteer members from Chelsea SES today (05/03/2016) as they collected donations from passing traffic.
Every little bit helps
So many generous folks happy to give
Each year, the unit holds 2 tin shakes. Edithvale and the other at the intersection of Centre Dandenong Road and Warrigal Road in Cheltenham as these are the only 2 intersection where collections are available through the City of Kingston.
Gloomy skies couldn't keep the oramge glow down
Having a great day and all for a great cause
Once again, our community were very generous, keeping our team busy and filling lots of tins and a special thank you goes to the guys and girls at Edithvale CFA for allowing us to use their facilities at the Fire Station for toilet breaks.
Waiting to catch the bus
In spite of a bit of gloomy weather in the morning, the sun appeared briefly in the afternoon and traffic volume increased as many people were heading for the City of Kingston Food & Wine Festival at Mordialloc. Members took full advantage of this to ensure that every vehicle was given the opportunity to donate if they wished to and we’re pleased to say, most of them did.
Money, money, money!
The final count shows that the unit raised $6,977.05 which is fantastic! Special thanks to all of the members who gave up their Saturday to assist with collecting, sorting and counting.
A true sign of the times
As always, we would like to thank everyone who dropped money into our tins as we could not do what we do for our community without this help. THANK YOU ALL!
