Car hits building in Braeside

Hey Tru Blu

Just after 3pm on Monday (07/05/2012) a Toyota sedan travelling North along Boundary Road in Braeside had to take evasive action to avoid a vehicle that was crossing Boundary Road from Bond Street.

A very lucky escape for the driver of the sedan

The driver of the Toyota lost control of the vehicle which crashed into the front wall of number 247 Boundary Road; Tru Blu Campers, after colliding with a power pole.

Damage to the doorway of the building

Police called the team from Chelsea in to assist with the damage, who in turn called the City of Kingston Structural Engineer who attended the scene.

The car is removed ready for towing

After examining the damage, he allowed the car to be removed in order to be able to have a closer look at the exterior damage.

SES member and City of Kingston Engineer inspect the exterior damage

Following this, SES members cordoned off the area which will have further inspections tomorrow. Luckily no one was seriously injured in the car and there were no injuries to the people in the building.

The area was cordoned off until further inspection

Members were on scene for almost an hour before returning to LHQ for Monday night training.
