Bunnings & Dulux lend a hand

Bunnings and Dulux; great community neighbours.

Once again this year, Chelsea SES Unit has been the lucky recipient of a promotion run by Dulux paints and Bunnings Warehouse.

A big dog, a big cheque and a big thank you

In a very generous spirit, a percentage from the cost of every can of Dulux paint sold through the Bunnings stores at Mentone and Moorabbin over a predetermined time has been donated to the Chelsea SES Unit.

A grateful Ron Fitch accepts the cheque

Chelsea Controller, Ron Fitch was on hand at the Mentone store this morning (31/05/2012) to receive the cheque from Bunning’s team members Sally and Susie from the Moorabbin store; and Anna and Jarrod from Mentone who shared the handover duties with Jo Bell from Dulux.

De Dah...How easy was that!

“This sort of fantastic community minded gesture from these major companies is a true indication of their unheralded community spirit and allows organisations like ours the opportunity to fund additional equipment and resources” said Chelsea Controller Ron Fitch. “I know that I speak for all of our volunteer members when I say just how much we appreciate this generous donation”.  The combined cheque from the Mentone and Moorabbin stores was for $3,235.00, which is simply brilliant.

The 'Dulux Dog' was keeping guard of the cheque right up until the handover

In early August, Chelsea SES are thrilled to be part of the Grand Opening weekend celebrations of the new, larger Bunnings store, located next door to the current site; and next year, Chelsea members will be at both Mentone (Nepean Highway) and Moorabbin (Warrigal Road) stores, sizzling snags for the Great Australia Day Barbie’s on the 26th of January 2013.
