Chelsea SES Goes Back To The Future
Aspendale Gardens Community Day
Now that would make a cool new rescue vehicle for Chelsea SES
The constant rain on Saturday (26/11/2011) kept some people away, but it didn't dampen the spirits of the majority of local residents that came down to Aspendale gardens Shopping Centre to help celebrate the 2011 community fun day.
The rain kept many visitors inside the centre
There were snakes, lizards and crocodiles, there were Kung Fu Panda's and dancing girls. There were rides and even St Kilda footy players. The firies were there from Edithvale CFA and of course the crew from Chelsea SES were on hand to say hi to the Aspendale Gardens community, but sadly there was also rain and plenty of it.
The flux capacitor is at the other end
While it was a little quiet under the SES marquee, members Steve and Deb joined the Doc to check out the fabulous Back to the Future Delorean that was a huge feature of the day.
Doc was checking that everything was ready in case he needed to make a quick getaway
This amazing full scale, fully working, charity replica, has every gadget and gizmo from all 3 movies making it unique with the front passenger seat filled with great memorable props from the movies including Marty's hover board and shoes.
Chelsea member Steve had a little trouble squeezing into the Time Machine
In spite of the rain, all was going well until the pagers started the activation process for the crew with flooding and building damage jobs coming in from Bonbeach to Mentone which meant a quick clean up and sadly having to role to calls for assistance.
With the possibility of thunder storms, the lightnig might come in handy
You might remember at the end of the first movie, that Doc and Marty had to rely on lightening hitting the clock tower to get the Delorean up to 88MPGH to get them Back to the Future, well, with the forecast looking a little grim and the possibility of thunder storms in the area, Doc was ready for anything, including maybe another trip through time.
You need to get it to 88MPH
Go get em Deb
Deb looked right at home in the driving seat and was very happy to take the car wherever, or should that be, whenever, it wanted to go. Time travel could be very handy for Chelsea SES, trees down on cars, we could simply go back and move the car before the tree ever fell, trouble is I'm not sure where we could put the ladder on the Delorean
The Doc stopped by to say Hi to the Chelsea crew
In spite of the inclement weather, it was still smiles all around when Doc popped into the SES marquee for a flying visit.
