Car destroys brick fence in Chelsea Heights

 The Commodore Sedan is pulled away from the brickwork

 Chelsea members were called to assist Police just after 4.30pm on Thursday afternoon (14/03/2013) following a car accident at the corner of Seventh Avenue and Fourth Avenue.

The car was badly damaged in the crash

When the Chelsea crew arrived on scene, they found a car had driven into the brick fence of the home located in Fourth Avenue opposite Seventh. A silver Commodore Sedan travelling along Seventh Ave had gone through the intersection and collided with the brick fence destroying the corner pillar, letter box and gate and a section of the wall itself sending the pillar, with gate still attached, many Metres along the driveway, luckily, avoiding the cars parked there. The Commodore was badly damaged and the windscreen was smashed after a section of the pillar came to rest within the windscreen.

Brickwork was strewn over the front lawn and driveway; however, luckily there were no injuries to either the owners of the property, pedestrians passing by or the driver.

The main role of the Chelsea members was to clear debris from the driveway and footpath and demolish a section of the brickwork to make the balance of the structure safe.

Members were on scene for approx 30 minutes and left the scene clear and safe before returning to the Chelsea LHQ.

All clear until the insurance company arrive

Police attended the scene and investigations into the circumstances of the crash are continuing.
